Power for Seanad

Ireland faces many challenges right now. Challenges like; changing economic fortunes, a more uncertain international context, rising temperatures and a degradation of civil discourse. The next five years of government represent a critical opportunity to navigate these issues.

I am determined to be part of the solution to these problems facing us all today, and in the years ahead. Below, I've outlined three key areas where I want to focus my energy if elected to Seanad Éireann. Those are:

  • Preparing for a new economy
  • introducing real change to our democratic institutions and
  • amplifying grassroots voices.

I want to achieve this by bringing positive progressive ideas to the Fianna Fáil party and to Seanad Éireann and by working hard to deliver for all of us.

MY PRIORITIES

PREPARING FOR A NEW ECONOMY

  • Support for workers, SMEs and farmers in delivering a just transition
  • Leverage and manage new technology for the benefit of our economy and society

REAL CHANGE AT SEANAD & LOCAL LEVEL

  • Devolution of power to local level
  • Promote capabilities of the Seanad for a more effective Oireachtas
  • Work with our MEPs and Regional Assemblies to enhance the benefits coming from Europe to local authorities

  AMPLIFY GRASSROOTS VOICES

  • Improved Councillors network sharing best practices
  • Promote FF regional & sectoral forums to have members voices heard and fed into policy
